  5.    ║ There are a few error corrections:                          ║
  6.    ║ ----------------------------------                          ║
  7.    ║ 1. The LOGON script did not manage to log in properly to    ║
  8.    ║    PCBoard systems at 9600 baud or higher. The reason for   ║
  9.    ║    this was partly a tricky modem (TBK 9600+), partly that  ║
  10.    ║    the script was not fast enough. This has now been fixed. ║
  11.    ╟─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────╢
  12.    ║ 2. If the password was not interpreted correctly by a       ║
  13.    ║    PCBoard system, the script would stop while PCB waited   ║
  14.    ║    for the password again. This has now been fixed.         ║

  16.    ║ 3. Fixed the EXIT script so that the correct EXIT status    ║
  17.    ║    shows on the status line.                                ║

  19.    ║ 4. Voice calls are now supported. Instead of specifying the ║
  20.    ║    name of a script in the script field of the phone direc- ║
  21.    ║    tory, specify the word 'VOICE' (no quotes). When dialing ║
  22.    ║    a number, you can control your next actions with the     ║
  23.    ║    phone and keyboard.                                      ║

  25.    ║ 5. The FINDIAL$ program could not find BBS entries with a   ║
  26.    ║    higher speed setting than 19200. This was due to integer ║
  27.    ║    overflow. The appropriate variables have been changed to ║
  28.    ║    long type.                                               ║

  30.    ║ 6. When logging "new files" lines could sometimes be dupli- ║
  31.    ║    cated, and sometimes lost. This happened especially when ║
  32.    ║    using high speeds (above 2400 baud). A new method has    ║
  33.    ║    been implemented, which resolves the problem.            ║
  34.    ║    If you see the filename "TEMP.SQR", this is an interme-  ║
  35.    ║    diate log file used for the process. This file is kept   ║
  36.    ║    until the next "new files" request (when it's deleted    ║
  37.    ║    and recreated), but you may delete it any time you wish. ║
  38.    ╟─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────╢
  39.    ║ 7. When uploading a file in PCBoard 14.5, the file is       ║
  40.    ║    assumed to be private for that conference. Now, if you   ║
  41.    ║    don't specify a conference for the file (#:conf) the     ║
  42.    ║    script will leave whatever conference it's in before     ║
  43.    ║    uploading, thus returning to "Main Board". Remember that ║
  44.    ║    it will *stay* in that conference for the *next* upload, ║
  45.    ║    unless you specify another conference for it.            ║

  47.    ║ There are a few additions:                                  ║
  48.    ║ --------------------------                                  ║
  49.    ║ 1. With PCBoard systems, files for download may be password ║
  50.    ║    protected. If you know the password, you can now include ║
  51.    ║    it in your NAME.DAT file, with the keyword "FPASS". You  ║
  52.    ║    can also include it in the download command file, in the ║
  53.    ║    format "&password" (without quotes). Thus you can give a ║
  54.    ║    new password for each file (the new password must be     ║
  55.    ║    specified *before* the file name, and will be the de-    ║
  56.    ║    fault password until the next one is read, or you start  ║
  57.    ║    Telix(_Square) again, re-reading the NAME.DAT file.      ║

  63.    ║ Error corrections and improvements:                         ║
  64.    ║ -----------------------------------                         ║
  65.    ║ 1. The name of the download log file has been changed from  ║
  66.    ║    MYPROGS.LOG to DOWNLOAD (no extension). This shall be    ║
  67.    ║    done automatically by the installation procedure, but    ║
  68.    ║    if this fails you should do it manually.                 ║
  69.    ╟─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────╢
  70.    ║ 2. The scripts now update the file list automatically each  ║
  71.    ║    time you're connected, but maximum once per day. Dupli-  ║
  72.    ║    cates can and will be stored, however, and files that    ║
  73.    ║    are deleted on the BBS will not be deleted from the      ║
  74.    ║    list, so it's a good idea to get an updated file list    ║
  75.    ║    from time to time anyway.                                ║
  76.    ║    The file FILELIST.BBS contains a list of BBSes and their ║
  77.    ║    corresponding file list names. When you find the name of ║
  78.    ║    the file list for a given BBS, you should add it to this ║
  79.    ║    file. If you download this file from the BBS, its name   ║
  80.    ║    will NOT be stored in the DOWNLOAD file. However, when   ║
  81.    ║    you have got the file list you should delete the name    ║
  82.    ║    from your WISH.LST file, or you'll get it again the next ║
  83.    ║    time you log in to the same BBS.                         ║

  85.    ║ 3. The scripts now make a new log file for each BBS you're  ║
  86.    ║    calling. The name of the log file is LOG\<SHORT>, where  ║
  87.    ║    <SHORT> is composed of the 8 first characters (A-Z) of   ║
  88.    ║    the BBS name. If the LOG directory does not exist, it's  ║
  89.    ║    created automatically under the TELIX main directory.    ║
  90.    ║    Note that the log files are now re-used; you do not have ║
  91.    ║    to delete them to save disk space. However, you'll have  ║
  92.    ║    to save any log file that you want to investigate later. ║

  94.    ║ 4. The NAME.DAT file can now contain comments, so you don't ║
  95.    ║    have to delete them while editing the supplied sample    ║
  96.    ║    file. You can add comments as well, by using "{" to      ║
  97.    ║    start a comment and "}" to stop. Comments can NOT be     ║
  98.    ║    nested, but they can appear anywhere in a line, even in  ║
  99.    ║    the middle of a keyword. However, there can only be ONE  ║
  100.    ║    comment per line. This means that if you need to USE the ║
  101.    ║    "{" or the "}" characters in a line, make a comment      ║
  102.    ║    before them:                                             ║
  103.    ║    {this is a comment}{This is NOT a comment}.              ║

  105.    ║ 5. Some variables were saved in softkeys. This stole some   ║
  106.    ║    keys from the user. Another method has been implemented. ║
  107.    ║    You can now define your own setting of all softkeys.     ║
  108.    ║    However, the f1-f10/12 keys should contain the names of  ║
  109.    ║    some of the Telix_Square scripts. You can define their   ║
  110.    ║    settings in the NAME.DAT file, but if not, the settings  ║
  111.    ║    defined in you current setup will be used.               ║

  113.    ║ 6. Some subroutines now used in several scripts have been   ║
  114.    ║    extracted to be in scripts of their own. This prevents   ║
  115.    ║    redundancy and saves memory space, which is limited.     ║

  117.    ║ 7. Telix_Square now checks that crucial scripts are avail-  ║
  118.    ║    able before starting to call BBSes.                      ║

  120.    ║ 8. An option to exit from Telix after calling the BBS(es)   ║
  121.    ║    has been added. This makes timed calling of several      ║
  122.    ║    BBSes at different times a lot easier. This setting can  ║
  123.    ║    be toggled at any time by executing the "EXIT" script,   ║
  124.    ║    or by pressing Alt-X while you're online.                ║
